10. Our Beautiful Dive Down

Our Beautiful Dive Down

Join me

Take my hand

Look up

And take a step

A little black stone dislodges itself,

And falls down, picking up speed

Knocking into rocks, bushes and tree stumps along the way

From atop of the cliff

You gaze with me on sea-bound ships

Dragged onto the shore

Expressing no longing

As they wither away

More rocks tumble down

Picking up in speed, strength, and numbers

The noise is deafening

The sight is beautiful

Slowly the mountain of black rock

Is crumbling away

Taking all of us with it

The beauty is not that everything is falling

The beauty is that we are still alive

Suspended, falling free.
